Privacy

This page is a draft and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. It describes what the site actually does. It is not yet a complete privacy notice.

What I collect

There are two forms. The newsletter form asks for one thing, your email address: no name field, no company field, no phone field. The contact form asks for your name, your email address, an optional project category, and whatever you write in the message box. Sending a project inquiry does not subscribe you to the newsletter.

Alongside either one I pass on where you arrived from, if that information was in the link you clicked: the campaign tags in the URL, and the site that referred you. If you arrived directly, there is nothing to pass on and nothing is passed on.

If you book a call, that booking happens inside a scheduling widget on the booking section of the home page. The widget is run by the same customer relationship tool described below, and whatever you enter there goes to it directly, not through this site.

What I do with it

This website does not keep its own copy. What you submit is passed straight to the customer relationship tool I use to run the newsletter and my follow-up, and that tool is where it lives. I read the contact form myself. Nothing is sold, rented, or handed to a partner.

Analytics

This site uses Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to count page views, measure load performance, and count aggregate actions such as CTA clicks, scheduler interactions, and successful inquiry or newsletter submissions. Analytics never receives your email address, form contents, campaign tags, referrer, full query string, or scheduling-widget payload. The tools do not set cookies and do not track you across other websites.

Leaving

Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link at the top, not buried at the bottom. One click and you are out.

Google address lookup in Whetstone Studio

This section covers the optional address lookup in Whetstone Studio when the Studio links to this page. The website forms described above are separate from the Studio's property form.

When you search for an address in the Studio, the address text and the identifier of a suggestion you select are sent through the Studio's server to Google Maps Platform. A random lookup session token groups related requests. This lookup does not send your Studio password, buyer or seller contact details, contract documents, or other CRM records to Google.

Google's processing for this feature is governed by the Google Privacy Policy, which is incorporated for this feature. The Studio does not store or log address searches or suggestion lists. A per-account request budget prevents abuse without storing the search text. The address you select fills the form and is stored with the property when you submit it. You can enter an address manually instead of using Google address lookup.

Still to be written

How long the address is kept, how to ask for a copy or a deletion, who the data controller is, and the lawful basis for processing. These details remain pending business and legal review. Questions about the information you have submitted can be sent to jonathan@jonathanferrell.com.
